All 294 seats of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly went for polls in two phases, and the results will be declared on May 4. The 2026 West Bengal assembly polls have firmly evolved into a direct contest between the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Opinion polls have so far indicated that the TMC still holds an advantage, but with a reduced margin compared to 2021.
