Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs stormed into the Western Conference Finals after crushing Minnesota, setting up a blockbuster showdown with Oklahoma City.

Victor Wembanyama warned the NBA that this moment was coming.
Now, the San Antonio Spurs are officially back among the league’s elite… and suddenly, nobody looks safe.
Wemby and Co. bulldozed the Minnesota Timberwolves 139-109 on Friday night to clinch their Western Conference semifinal series and book a mouthwatering clash against the reigning champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder.
And while Wembanyama remains the face of this terrifying new Spurs era, it was young guard Stephon Castle who completely stole the show.

Castle erupted for 32 points and 11 rebounds on a blistering 11-for-16 shooting display as San Antonio dominated virtually from start to finish in Minneapolis.
De’Aaron Fox added 21 points, while Wembanyama chipped in with 19 in another commanding two-way performance.
The victory sends the Spurs to their first Western Conference Finals since 2017.
“We knew that we were ahead of schedule probably in December of last year,” Castle said afterwards.
“We know it’s going to be tough to knock them off, but I think we’re pretty confident we can do it.”
Spurs Overwhelm Timberwolves Early
From the opening tip, San Antonio looked sharper, faster and far more aggressive.
The Spurs ripped through Minnesota’s defense in the first quarter, dominating the paint and repeatedly punishing the Timberwolves in transition. Castle, in particular, looked unstoppable early.
Minnesota briefly threatened a comeback behind Anthony Edwards, whose aggression helped cut into the deficit before halftime.
But the game completely flipped after the break.
San Antonio suffocated Edwards with relentless double-teams in the third quarter, effectively shutting down Minnesota’s offense while continuing to score at will on the other end.
By the end of the third, the Spurs had built a crushing 26-point lead while shooting an outrageous 56 percent from the field.
The result became so inevitable that Edwards walked over during a late timeout to congratulate Spurs players before the final buzzer had even sounded.
Thunder Await In Blockbuster Series
Now comes the real test.
The top-seeded Thunder remain favorites to win the NBA title, but San Antonio will enter the series with serious confidence after going 4-1 against Oklahoma City during the regular season.
