The Tamil Nadu DGP has ordered a fresh probe into the Veeramani POCSO case, with a four-member SIT comprising women IPS officers investigating the alleged abuse. The Chennai Police Commissioner will supervise the probe. The development comes after two senior IPS officers, A. Arun and N. Kannan, were removed from their posts and placed on compulsory wait. The Home Department order does not specify the reason for their removal.
