West Bengal Polls Phase 1: There have been reports of violence from many districts during the first phase of voting for the West Bengal Assembly Elections 2026. There was heavy stone pelting between Humayun Kabir (AJUP) and TMC supporters in Murshidabad, after which the police had to resort to lathi charge. There are also reports of attacks and clashes on candidates in South Dinajpur and Birbhum. Despite the deployment of heavy security forces, the situation remains tense.
