Debt-ridden telecom company Vodafone-Idea (VI) has suffered a consolidated loss of Rs 6,432 crore in the first quarter of FY 2025. The company had suffered a loss of Rs 7,840 crore in the same quarter a year ago. VI’s loss has reduced by 17.96% on an annual basis.
In the April-June quarter, Vodafone-Idea’s consolidated operational revenue fell 1.3% year-on-year to Rs 10,508.30 crore. In the same quarter a year ago, the company’s revenue was Rs 10,655.50 crore. The amount received from selling goods and services is called revenue.

Vodafone-Idea shares fell 6% this year
Before the results, VI’s stock closed at Rs 16.02 today (Monday, August 12) after falling 0.50%. The company’s stock has given a negative return of 0.44% in one month and a positive return of 10.87% in 6 months and 99.01% in one year. Airtel’s stock has fallen 5.76% this year i.e. from January 1, 2024 till now. The company’s market-cap is Rs 1.12 lakh crore.

VI shares today (Monday, August 12) closed at Rs 16.02 after falling 0.50%.
What is standalone and consolidated?
The results of companies come in two parts – standalone and consolidated. In standalone, the financial performance of only one unit is shown. Whereas, in consolidated or consolidated financial report, the report of the entire company is given.
Vodafone-Idea’s ARPU stood at Rs 146
Bharti Airtel’s ‘average revenue per user’ (ARPU) grew by 4.5% to Rs 146 during the April-June quarter. It was Rs 139 in the same quarter of the previous financial year. The company has increased the recharge prices by 25% from July 4.

Telecom company Bharti Airtel has made a profit of Rs 4,160 crore in the first quarter of the financial year 2025. It has increased by 157.90% on an annual basis. The company had made a profit of Rs 1,613 crore in the same quarter a year ago.
In the April-June quarter, Bharti Airtel’s consolidated operational revenue (income from operations) grew 2.85% year-on-year to Rs 38,506 crore. In the same quarter a year ago, the company’s revenue was Rs 37,440 crore.
