US-Iran LIVE Updates: A drone strike on Sunday sparked a fire near the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in Abu Dhabi. The UAE’s Ministry of Defence stated that the drone, one of three that had entered the country from the western border, hit an electrical generator located outside the plant’s inner perimeter in the Al Dhafra area.

No injuries were reported, and radiation levels remained unaffected. The UAE has not identified any party behind the attack.

Meanwhile, diplomatic efforts continue to ease tensions. Pakistan’s interior minister visited Tehran to facilitate stalled peace talks between Iran and the US, following a recent visit by Pakistan’s army chief. European countries are also in talks with Tehran over transit through the Strait of Hormuz.

In Tehran, Iran’s parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, a key negotiator in US talks, was appointed as the country’s special representative for China affairs.
