Automobile company TVS Motors has made a profit of Rs 841 crore in the third quarter of the financial year 2025-26. It has increased by 49% on an annual basis. The company had made a profit of Rs 566 crore in the same quarter a year ago.

There has been an increase of 33% in the company’s earnings. TVS Motors has earned Rs 14,745 crore in the October-December quarter. In the same quarter last year, this figure was Rs 11,099 crore. After the results, TVS Motors shares rose 5% to close at Rs 3,735.

TVS makes record in two-wheeler sales

  • Highest sales ever: TVS has made record breaking sales in this quarter. Total 2-wheeler and 3-wheeler sales grew by 27% to 15.44 lakh units, the highest single quarter sales in the company’s history.
  • Demand for electric vehicles increased: Demand for the company’s electric vehicles has increased rapidly. EV sales saw a growth of 40% and reached a record high of 1.06 lakh units.
  • Three-wheeler and export boom: Sales of three-wheelers have more than doubled (106%) compared to last year. Besides, a strong growth of 35% has been recorded in exports abroad.

TVS shares gave 60% return in one year

After the results, TVS Motors shares closed 4.68% higher at Rs 3,735 today (Wednesday, January 28). The company’s shares have risen 4.50% in the last one month. At the same time, it has increased by 33.45% in the last 6 months and by 20% in one year. The market-cap of the company is Rs 1.77 lakh crore.

TVS started with bus service in 1911

TVS is a multinational bike manufacturing company. It is India’s third largest motorcycle company in terms of revenue. The company’s average annual sales are more than Rs 30 lakh.

However, its manufacturing capacity is more than 40 lakh two-wheelers. TVS is also India’s second largest exporter. The company sells its cars in more than 60 countries.

TVS founder T.V. Sundaram Iyengar started the first bus service in Madurai in 1911 and established a company named TVS in the transportation business, which had a large fleet of trucks and buses under the name Southern Roadways.
