US President Donald Trump has backed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s re-election bid, predicting a “tremendous” victory as the Israeli leader hinted at further joint military action against Iran.
In a video released by Netanyahu on Monday, Trump expressed confidence in his ally’s electoral prospects ahead of Israel’s October 27 parliamentary election, while the two leaders exchanged praise over their close partnership.
“I think you’re going to have a tremendous victory, actually,” Trump said during the telephone conversation, with Netanyahu putting his mobile on speaker.

“You’re the man I want by my side, Bibi,” Trump added, referring to Netanyahu by his nickname.
The exchange came a day after Trump publicly endorsed Netanyahu, calling him as “Strong, Brave, and Brilliant” despite opposition within Israel.
‘We Have A Job To Finish’
Netanyahu, while reminding Trump that the conversation was on an open line, praised the US president for joining Israel’s military campaign against Iran.
“Donald, we have a job to finish,” Netanyahu said. “We’ll finish it together. We’ll finish it, and no one else will do it.”
He did not elaborate on what the statement meant but again described Iran’s clerical leadership as “the greatest danger”.
Netanyahu had earlier said that re-election would allow him to work with Trump to “eliminate the Iranian threat” over the next two years, or sooner.
Iran Warns Against Renewed Conflict
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has warned Netanyahu against drawing Washington into another war.
“Last time you wanted to ‘finish the job’, Iran emerged even stronger. Want to try your luck again? Be our guest. But be careful; we have unfinished jobs too,” Araghchi wrote on X, challenging the Israeli leader to try again.
The US and Israel launched joint strikes against Iran in late February before Trump agreed to a ceasefire in April. Iran’s clerical establishment remained in power despite the attacks.
Netanyahu’s election campaign comes amid criticism over his handling of the October 7, 2023, Hamas-led attack, which opposition politicians say exposed serious security failures.
