US President Donald Trump on Monday announced that 25% tariff will be imposed on all medium and heavy duty trucks entering the country from November 1.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said: “Beginning November 1st, 2025, all Medium and Heavy Duty Trucks coming into the United States from other Countries will be Tariffed at the Rate of 25%. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
This comes weeks after Trump announced upcoming import tariffs, including 100% duties on patented drugs and 25% levies on heavy duty trucks, as soon as October 1.
He said the new tariffs were to protect the US manufacturing industry and national security.
