Brazilian superstar Neymar has agreed to pen an extension on his contract with boyhood club Santos until the end of 2026, reports said.

Despite playing with a torn meniscus and bearing the responsibility of preventing a second relegation in the club’s 112-year history, the Brazilian star persevered and led Santos to safety. On Wednesday, Santos, the former club of Pele, posted a mysterious video on social media featuring an aerial view of their Vila Belmiro stadium with the date December 31, 2026, with a caption that read, “The time is coming,” without mentioning Neymar, whose initial contract expired at midnight on December 31.
Neymar, who has played for Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, and Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia, is Brazil’s top scorer with 79 goals, surpassing Pele by two. He has not played for the national team since October 2023, when he sustained a knee injury against Uruguay.
