Actor Tiger Shroff
Two days after Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff escaped a shooting bid in Mumbai’s Juhu area, three women have been detained in connection with the attack.
The women were initially detained by the Delhi Police and were later handed over to the Mumbai Police.
The trio is suspected of supplying weapons to the accused involved in the incident. A team of Mumbai Police has taken custody of the three women and left for Mumbai for further investigation.
The actor was caught up in a firing incident in Mumbai’s Juhu after three unidentified men allegedly arrived on a motorcycle and fired shots near Pushpa Park. Early reports claimed that Shroff and two other people had suffered injuries. However, Mumbai Police later clarified that “the actor was safe and had not sustained any gunshot injuries.” Shroff’s driver and an autorickshaw driver were reportedly injured in the incident.
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the attack, according to a viral social media post, but police are yet to verify its authenticity.
Three accused, including Ritik alias Roshan, a resident of Begusarai in Bihar, and Rehan from Sonipat in Haryana, were apprehended from a train in Rajasthan’s Kota on Monday. Their arrest came a day after shots were fired at Shroff’s car in Mumbai’s Juhu area.
Earlier on Monday, Rehan’s father, Raisuddin, told reporters that his son had dropped out of Class 9 and had previously been arrested in an Arms Act case. He added that Rehan was currently out on bail and blamed his son’s “friend circle” for his alleged involvement in the earlier case. The shooting incident also drew reactions from several celebrities, including Amaal Mallik, Shatrughan Sinha and Ranvir Shorey.
