Supreme Court refuses to extend transit anticipatory bail for Congress leader Pawan Khera in case filed by Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarmas wife over multiple passport claim

The Supreme Court on Friday refused to extend the transit anticipatory bail of Congress leader Pawan Khera till Tuesday in connection with an FIR filed by Riniki Bhuyan Sharma, wife of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, over allegations that she held multiple passports.

Khera had requested an extension of his transit anticipatory bail till Tuesday, seeking to move to a competent court in Assam. However, the top court declined his request and said any anticipatory bail plea be moved before the appropriate court in Assam.
