Sugar will be cheaper before festivals: Government told traders to give cheap sugar to the people, increased the stock limit from 15 to 30 days.

The central government has increased the stock limit for bulk consumers to 30 days to prevent hoarding and control prices ahead of festivals.

With this step of the government, sweets, bakeries and food processing companies will not have to face shortage of sugar during festivals.

Bulk consumers are those companies or industrial units which use more than 10 tonnes of sugar per month as raw material.

Till now these companies could keep stock equal to their requirement only for 15 days. The government has asked businessmen to provide cheap sugar to the people.
