A speeding Mercedes crashed into a scooty on Friday evening in the Sindolim locality of Goa, killing its rider and causing fire to both vehicles, according to police.
Police told CNN-News18 that the luxury car driver was detained after the scooty rider succumbed to the injuries on the spot. According to investigators and onlookers, the two-wheeler was dragged up to two kilometres after being hit by the Mercedes.
An exclusive footage of the accident spot, accessed by CNN-News18, showed the front part of the Mercedes covered in ruins as police personnel remained on the spot to assess the damage and carry out further proceedings.
Another video showed an eyewitness sharing the account of how the incident unfolded.
