1. Inflation increased in December due to increase in prices of vegetables and pulses: Highest in 3 months, reached 1.33%, was 0.71% in November.

In December, retail inflation has increased to the level of 1.33% as compared to the previous month. This is the high level of three months. Earlier in November it was at 0.71%, which was the lowest level in 14 years.
Whereas in October it was at 0.25%, which was the lowest level in 14 years. The increase in inflation in December is due to increase in prices of pulses, vegetables, meat-fish, eggs and electricity. The government has released inflation figures on Monday, January 12.

2. Gold increased by ₹ 3,327 to a high of ₹ 1.40 lakh: Silver price increased by ₹ 14 thousand in a day, for the first time it became ₹ 2.57 lakh per kg.

Gold and silver prices reached all time high (January 12). According to India Bullion and Jewelers Association (IBJA), the price of 10 grams of 24 carat gold increased by Rs 3,327 to close at Rs 1,40,449. Yesterday it was Rs 1,37,122 per 10 grams.
At the same time, one kg of silver had reached Rs 2,57,283 in the morning. However, after this there was a slight decrease in its price and it increased by Rs 13,968 and closed at Rs 2,56,776 per kg. Earlier its price was Rs 2,42,808 per kg.

3. HCL Tech’s profit declined by 11% to ₹ 4,076 crore: Revenue in the third quarter was ₹ 33,872 crore, company will give dividend of ₹ 12 per share.

The total income of IT company HCL Tech in the third quarter was Rs 34,257 crore. This is 12.80% more than last year. In this earnings of the company, revenue from operations was Rs 33,872 crore. Whereas in the July to September quarter, the company’s total expenses stood at Rs 27,792 crore and it paid a total tax of Rs 1,427 crore.
If expenses and taxes are deducted from the total income, then the company made a net profit of Rs 4,076 crore in the third quarter. It has decreased by 11.21% on annual basis. The company had made a profit of Rs 4,591 crore in the same quarter last year. HCL Tech has released its October-December quarter (Q3FY26, third quarter) results on Monday (January 12).

4. TCS profit down 14% to ₹10,657 crore: Revenue up 5% in third quarter; Shareholders will get ₹57 dividend on every share

Tata Group company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has made a profit (consolidated net profit) of Rs 10,657 crore in the third quarter of the financial year 2025-26. There has been a decline of 14% on annual basis. In the same quarter of the last financial year, the company had made a profit of Rs 12,380 crore.
The company generated revenue from operations of Rs 67,087 crore in the October-December quarter. It has increased by 5% on annual basis. The company had generated a revenue of Rs 63,973 crore in the same period last year.

5. Withdrawal of money from non-SBI ATM becomes expensive: SBI increases charge to ₹23 +GST; Unlimited free transactions on salary account also ended

The country’s largest bank State Bank of India (SBI) has increased transaction charges on non-SBI ATMs. This change has come into effect from December 1, 2025. Now, after the free limit, withdrawal of cash from non-SBI ATM will cost Rs 23 plus GST, whereas earlier it was Rs 21 plus GST.
Non-financial transactions like balance check or mini statement will now cost Rs 11 plus GST, which was earlier Rs 10 plus GST.
