On the third trading day of the week, today i.e. on Wednesday, May 21, the Sensex is trading about 200 points at 81,400. The Nifty has a gain of 60 points, at the level of 24,750.
The Sensex is a rise in 19 out of 30 shares. Sunpharma, Nestle and HDFC Banks are about 1% above. Whereas, the shares of Eternal (Zomato), Adani Ports have a decline of up to 1.2%.
The Nifty has a rise in 25 out of 50 shares. The NSE pharma index is 1.51% in the index, 1.26% in health care and 1.08% in realty. Whereas, IT, metal and government banking sector is slight decline.
Mixed business in global market
- In Asian markets, Japan’s Nikkei is at around 40 points (0.10%) at 37,500. Korea’s Kospi is trading up about 30 points (1%) above 2,625.
- Hong Kong’s Hangseng index is around 120 points (0.50%), 23,800. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 3,393 to climb 13 points (0.40%).
- On May 20, the US Dow Jones fell 115 points (0.27%) to close at 42,677. Nasdaq Composite fell 73 points to 19,143 and S&P 500 23 points closed down.
Foreign investors on 20 May 10,016 Sold shares worth crores
- On 20 May, Foreign Investors (FIIs) sold shares worth Rs 10,016.10 crore in the cash segment while domestic investors (DIS) purchased a net of Rs 6,738.39 crore.
- So far, foreign investors have purchased a net of Rs 13,240.59 crore in the cash segment and Rs 29,799.01 crore in the cash segment.
- Net purchases of foreign investors in April stood at Rs 2,735.02 crore. Domestic investors also purchased a net of ₹ 28,228.45 crore in a month.
Belarize Industries IPO Open from today, 23 investment opportunity

The market fell around 900 points on Tuesday
The Sensex fell 873 points to close at 81,186 on the second trading day of the week i.e. 20 May. The Nifty fell by 262 points, reaching the level of 24,684.
27 out of 30 of Sensex declined and 3 declined. Jomato shares fell 4.10%. A total of 14 shares, including Maruti and UltraTech Cement, declined by 2.8%.
42 out of 50 shares of Nifty closed down. Auto, media and realty fell by about 2%. The Auto sector of the NSE declined 2.17%, 1.41%in healthcare, 1.11%in realty, 1.36%in media and pharma.
