There is a rise in the stock market today i.e. on 28th January (Wednesday). Sensex is trading at the level of 82,170 after rising 300 points. Nifty is also up by 100 points, trading at 25,300 level.

There is a rise of up to 3% in Oil & Gas, Media, Private Bank and Realty sectors. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 21 are showing a rise and 9 are showing a decline.

Shares of Axis Bank, BEL and Adani Ports are up by up to 2%. At the same time, shares of Asian Paints, Maruti and Infosys are seeing a decline of up to 5%.

Mixed business in global market

  • In Asian markets, Korea’s Kospi was trading 1.05% higher at 5,138 and Japan’s Nikkei index was trading 0.58% lower at 53,024.
  • Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index rose 2.21% to 27,725 and China’s Shanghai Composite index rose 0.49% to 4,160.
  • On January 27, the US market Dow Jones fell 0.83% and closed at 49,003. The Nasdaq index closed 0.91% higher and the S&P 500 closed 0.41% higher.

On January 27, foreign investors invested ₹3,068 sold shares worth crores

  • On January 27, foreign investors (FIIs) sold shares worth Rs 3,068 crore. Whereas domestic investors (DII) have bought shares worth Rs 8,999 crore.
  • In December 2025, FIIs had sold shares worth a total of ₹34,350 crore. During this period, DIIs controlling the market had bought shares worth ₹79,620 crore.

Yesterday the Sensex rose 319 and closed at 81,857.

The stock market closed with a rise on January 27 (Tuesday). Sensex rose 319 and closed at 81,857. Nifty also rose 126 points, it closed at the level of 25,175.

The metal sector had the highest increase of 3%. PSU bank and private bank sector also saw a growth of more than 1%. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 18 stocks saw a rise and 12 saw a fall.

Shares of Axis Bank, Adani Ports and Tech Mahindra rose up to 5%. At the same time, shares of Mahindra & Mahindra, Asian Paints and Kotak Mahindra Bank had fallen by up to 3%.
