Sensex slumps 1092 points to 74775.74, Nifty50 falls 359 points to 23547.75 amid broad based selling, both remain above 52 week lows but below record highs

Sensex, Nifty Post Steep Losses As Selling Pressure Intensifies Across Sectors
Indian benchmark indices ended sharply lower on Friday amid broad-based selling pressure across sectors. The BSE Sensex plunged 1,092.05 points, or 1.44 per cent, to close at 74,775.74, while the NSE Nifty50 declined 359.40 points, or 1.50 per cent, to settle at 23,547.75.
The Sensex opened at 75,988.51 and touched an intraday high of 76,220.02 before slipping to a low of 74,589.11. Similarly, the Nifty50 opened at 23,902.15, hit a day’s high of 24,002.80, and fell to an intraday low of 23,484.75. The sharp decline came after the indices had settled at 75,867.80 and 23,907.15, respectively, in the previous session.
Despite the day’s fall, both indices remain above their 52-week lows of 71,545.81 for the Sensex and 22,182.55 for the Nifty50. However, they continue to trade below their respective 52-week highs of 86,159.02 and 26,373.20.
