30 year old TV actor Rohit Chandel has been a part of many popular shows.
Popular shows like ‘Pandya Store’ and Sairab fame actor Rohit Chandel has got bail in the POCSO case. He is accused of stalking, repeatedly calling, harassing and assaulting a 16-year-old girl. Mumbai Police arrested him in July.
A case has been registered against Rohit Chandel under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act i.e. POCSO. He was in jail for about two months.

Rohit Chandel had difficulty in getting bail earlier. Some irregularities were revealed in the case papers. According to reports, in the documents his profession was wrongly mentioned as businessman instead of actor. His religion was also wrongly mentioned in the charge sheet. There was a mistake in his medical records also. In that his marital status was written as married, whereas Rohit Chandel has described himself as unmarried.
The second bail application was rejected on July 22.
The actor’s lawyer had said that mistakes made in government documents should not have any impact on the case. However, on July 22, Rohit Chandel’s second bail application was rejected. After this, the 16 year old complainant had recorded her statement before the Judicial Magistrate.
The arrest took place from home on July 10.
A complaint was registered against Rohit on July 10 under the POCSO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses).
On July 10 itself, he was arrested from his house in Dahisar and presented in the Special POCSO Court. Currently the actor is in custody.
Pant Nagar police station has also invoked sections 78 (stalking) and 115(2) (intent to cause hurt) of the Indian Justice Code against the actor after receiving a complaint by a minor resident of Mumbai’s eastern suburbs on Friday.
The actor is accused of repeatedly harassing the minor girl by calling her from his number. When the minor stopped picking up his phone, the actor started harassing him by calling repeatedly from another number.
According to the complaint, on July 5, Rohit tried to forcefully stop the girl near her house and later chased her. When the minor protested, the actor abused and beat him while arguing.
Co-star expressed surprise at the arrest
‘Sairab’ actress Kishori Shahane reacted to the arrest of co-star Rohit. Speaking to Tellychakkar, he said that when he read this news, at first he thought it was a part of the promotion of the show, as a similar track is going on in the serial. But later it was found out that the matter was true. He said that currently the shooting of the show is going on normally and he does not have much information about this matter.
Rohit Chandel was born in Shahada, Maharashtra. After being rejected in about 90 auditions, he got his first commercial ad. After this, he made his TV debut in 2014 with the show ‘Har Mushkil Ka Hal Akbar Birbal’. Later, he appeared in many serials like ‘Chandragupt Maurya’, ‘Tamanna’ and ‘Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai’.
In the year 2022, he played the role of Rajkumar in Disney + Hotstar’s web series ‘Skype Live’. ‘Kashibai Bajirao Ballal’ and ‘Pandya Store’ made him famous in every household. Currently he is seen in the TV show ‘Sairab’.
