Amidst the ongoing legal battle within CINTAA and the elections being held on the orders of the court, actress Kunika Sadanand alleged that some office documents were being kept in Poonam Dhillon’s car and an attempt was made to stop her from making a video of it.
In a video, Kunika Sadanand said regarding the matter, “I am very sad to see today’s situation of CINTAA. I have not seen such behavior of any committee in the last 40 years.”
Kunika told that she got information about the removal of documents from the CINTAA office, after which she reached the spot. According to him, Manish Chaturvedi and Preeti called and informed that the people of the previous committee were taking the papers in a hurry.
He claimed that the matter reached the police, but the police said that the order of the Charity Commissioner was necessary to withhold the documents. According to Kunika, the documents were being taken in a tempo to the office at Karthik Complex.
Kunika Sadanand has worked in many films like ‘Khiladi’, ‘Beta’, ‘Gumrah’. Last year she was also seen in the TV show ‘Bigg Boss’.
Kunika said that people associated with the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) stopped the tempo and kept the documents in the CINTAA office and locked it.
He also alleged that some people were keeping the documents in Poonam Dhillon’s car. According to Kunika, a video of this was made and the police were asked to stop the process.
Kunika told that the police showed some documents, some of which were court papers. He said that the next hearing is on 16th, hence it was suggested to keep the documents locked.
CINTAA elections to be held on 12th. Actress Kunika Sadanand is also contesting and she is also appealing to vote in her favor on social media.
He also mentioned the alleged statement of Padmini Kolhapure. According to Kunika, Padmini said that she was taking the papers for safekeeping. Kunika raised the question from whom were they supposed to keep the documents safe.
Kunika alleged that Poonam tried to break a person’s phone by snatching it and tried to stop her from making a video.
Kunika said that police allowed a lock to be placed on a carton of papers and that locking system was later taped. He said that the founders of CINTAA would never have imagined that such a situation would arise in the organization.
On Thursday, there was a heated debate between the two groups Poonam Dhillon camp and Upasana Singh-FWICE camp in the Mumbai office of CINTAA. During this, the people present there accused each other of allegedly taking legal documents out of the office and election related incidents.
In early August, 11 members of the executive committee of CINTAA (Cine and TV Artistes Association) had resigned following differences between factions led by Poonam Dhillon and Upasana Singh. Out of which 8 were elected members. After this, FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees) announced to hold new elections of CINTAA on 12 September.
Out of 11, the main 8 members were those who came to the Executive Committee after being elected by the public/artists.
The faction led by Poonam Dhillon had challenged the validity of the elections in the Dindoshi Sessions Court on August 25. On September 8, the court gave permission to hold elections. The court said that after the election is declared, it cannot interfere in it. However, the court also said that when elections are held, their results will be in accordance with the final decision of the case. The next hearing of the case will be on October 26.
According to a Times of India report, Upasana Singh expressed happiness over the verdict and said that she was confident of getting justice. He said that for the first time in the history of CINTAA, 51 people have filed nominations. They say that the decisions taken in the Executive General Meeting after the dissolution of the Executive Committee are invalid.
FWICE Chairman BN Tiwari said that the court has given permission to hold elections on September 12 and the elections will be held as per schedule. He informed that a request has been made to suspend the social media accounts of CINTAA till the election results are declared. Letters have also been written to Versova and Amboli police stations in this matter. CINTAA’s bank accounts have also been frozen till the election results are declared.
