Petrol, Diesel Price Hike LIVE: The Centre on Friday announced hikes in the prices of petrol, diesel, and CNG as the war in West Asia continues, leading to continued disruptions in the global energy supply chain.
While the price of petrol was hiked by Rs 3.14 per litre, diesel prices surged by Rs 3.11 per litre. The cost of CNG saw a jump of Rs 2. Accordingly, the cost of petrol has now reached Rs 97.77, while the price of diesel has risen to Rs 90.67.

The development comes as the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz — a critical waterway that provides for nearly one-fifth of the global oil and gas supply — continues in the wake of the conflict in West Asia. The war has sent shockwaves through the global fuel economy, causing a sharp rise in energy prices across the world.
