Patna-Bound SpiceJet Flight Returns To Delhi After Suspected Technical Glitch

The airlines has denied presence of any foreign object in the passenger’s throat, chest and abdomen.

A Patna-bound SpiceJet flight was forced to return to Delhi shortly after takeoff on Thursday after the crew detected a suspected technical glitch.

The Boeing 737-8A aircraft has been grounded for a detailed inspection, and checks are currently underway, the airline said.

SpiceJet added that an alternate flight is being arranged for the affected passengers.

In a separate incident, an Indigo flight from Kolkata to Srinagar, carrying 166 passengers and crew members, made an emergency landing in Varanasi’s Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport due to a fuel leak on Wednesday.

All passengers on board were safely evacuated from IndiGo Flight 6E-6961.

According to Varanasi police, airport authorities are actively investigating the incident, and the situation is now under control, news agency IANS reported. Normal operations resumed after the emergency landing.

The aircraft landed safely at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport at 4:10 p.m., and all passengers were escorted to the arrival hall.

Last week, a passenger’s power bank caught fire on board a Dimapur-bound IndiGo aircraft while taxiing at the Delhi airport, which was extinguished by the cabin crew.

According to flight tracking website Flightradar24.com, flight AI2107, operated by an Airbus A320neo aircraft, departed from Delhi airport at 14:33 hours and landed in Dimapur (Nagaland) at 16:45 hours. The flight had originally been scheduled to depart at 12:25 hours.
