National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval said on Tuesday that the security of the country is not decided only by its military strength, but the will of the people is most important. The biggest mistake while assessing the strength of a country is to ignore the morale of the people.
Speaking at the fifth convocation of Rashtriya Defense University (RRU) in the presence of President Draupadi Murmu, Doval said that national security is a complex and multi-dimensional subject. This includes manpower along with army, technology, resources and diplomacy.
National security is not just the responsibility of the army, police or intelligence agencies, but it is the collective responsibility of the entire country.

The main objective of war is to break the morale of the enemy.
- Doval said that the Soviet Union’s withdrawal from Afghanistan in 1988-89, America’s withdrawal from Vietnam in the 1970s or not being able to achieve its goals in Afghanistan, all these were not due to military or technical weakness. The real reason was the spirit and commitment of the people there, which we call the will of the nation.

Doval awarded honorary PhD
Giving a message to the youth, Doval said, “This is a field in which there is no silver medal. You either win or lose. If you win, you make history, and if you lose, you become history.”
During the convocation, President Draupadi Murmu also awarded an honorary PhD to Ajit Doval for his contribution to national security. On this, Doval expressed his gratitude and said that he accepts this honor with humility.
