Japanese automaker Nissan Motor India has reported a strong start to FY2027, registering a 75 per cent year-on-year growth in domestic wholesales for April 2026. The company sold 3,203 units in the domestic market during the month, while total sales, including exports, stood at 5,388 units.
The growth was supported by the recently introduced Nissan Gravite and the continued performance of the Nissan Magnite in the compact SUV segment.
According to Nissan, customer response to the Gravite has been encouraging since launch, with the model gaining traction for its 7-seat layout, practicality and everyday usability. The Magnite, meanwhile, remains a key volume driver for the company in India.
Commenting on the performance, Saurabh Vatsa said the strong beginning to the financial year reflects the company’s strategy of aligning products with evolving customer expectations. He added that the response to the Gravite, along with the sustained popularity of the Magnite, has strengthened Nissan’s confidence in the Indian market.
The company also indicated that it plans to introduce new products and expand its network footprint across the country during the current financial year as part of its broader growth strategy.
