This approximately 13 kilometer long ropeway system is being installed in one of the highest and challenging geographical areas in the world. Currently, devotees have to undertake a steep and tiring 16 kilometer trek from Sonprayag to reach Kedarnath, which takes an average of 8 to 9 hours. However, after the opening of this ropeway, this painful journey will be reduced to just 36 minutes. The project will be based on the world’s safest and most advanced ‘3S’ (three-cable) technology, designed to operate smoothly even in inclement weather and strong winds. The project, with an estimated cost of approximately Rs 4,081 crore, is being constructed by the Adani Group under the ‘Parvatmala Scheme’. Its capacity will be so wide that it will be able to carry around 1,800 passengers per hour one way, making it much easier to manage the rush during the season. Adani Enterprises Limited got the project in September 2025. Gautam Adani’s company Adani Enterprises Limited (AEL) said that in September they had got the contract for the construction of about 13 kilometer long ropeway project connecting Sonprayag to Kedarnath. After paying obeisance, he wrote – You are my real power. Gautam Adani, while sharing the photos on I started this auspicious occasion with the darshan and blessings of Lord Mahadev at Kedarnath Dham with my life partner Preeti. In this journey of four decades, Preeti’s support has not only been the support of life for me, but also a quiet strength in every challenge and a humble foundation in every success, for this I am deeply grateful to her. We prayed to Mahadev to grant our country continuous progress, prosperity and strength, and inspire all of us to contribute our best in nation building. Today, on the occasion of World Workers’ Day, I am launching a new initiative, ‘Apni Baat, Apno Ke Saath’ to connect with more than 4 lakh of my colleagues from the Adani family. This is not just a formal communication for me, but an effort to connect wholeheartedly with everyone in the Adani family. Through this initiative, I will share my thoughts, my experiences and my learnings from time to time and will also try to learn with equal humility. I strongly believe that when lakhs of members of the Adani family will support each other and join the resolve of nation building, then we will not only build projects but will also be able to make our humble contribution towards realizing the dream of a developed India.
