There is flat trading in the stock market today i.e. on January 5. Sensex is trading at the level of 85,750 and Nifty at 26,300. However, Nifty made a new record high during trading today, touching the level of 26,358. Today there is a huge decline in IT and banking shares.

- In Asian markets, Korea’s Kospi is trading up 2.81% at 4,430 and Japan’s Nikkei index is trading up 2.82% at 51,759.
- Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index traded up 0.07% at 26,357 and China’s Shanghai Composite index was up 1.02% at 4,009.
- On January 2, America’s Dow Jones closed at 48,382, up 0.66%. At the same time, there was a decline of 0.02% in Nasdaq Composite and a rise of 0.19% in S&P 500.
FIIs sold shares worth ₹3,268 crore on January 1
- On January 2, FIIs had bought shares worth Rs 544 crore. Whereas DII had bought shares worth Rs 534 crore.
- FIIs sold shares worth a total of ₹34,349.62 crore in December 2025. During this period, DIIs controlling the market bought shares worth ₹ 79,619.91 crore.
- FIIs sold shares worth a total of ₹17,500.31 crore in the month of November. Whereas, DIIs made purchases worth ₹77,083.78 crore. That is, the market is supported by domestic investors.
There was a rise in the market last week There was a rise in the stock market today i.e. on 2 January. The Sensex rose 573 points and closed at the level of 85,762. Nifty made a new record high during trading today, it touched the level of 26,340. After this, Nifty climbed 182 points and closed at the level of 26,328. This is also the new closing high of Nifty.
