SpiceJet will operate 22 special flights from October 10 to boost connectivity to Kolkata and Bagdogra during the Durga Puja festive season, the airline said in a statement on Friday.
The additional services will link Kolkata with Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Bagdogra and Port Blair, while Bagdogra gets extra connections to Delhi, Bengaluru and Kolkata, giving passengers from North Bengal and eastern India more options during the festive travel rush.
As part of the expanded network, SpiceJet will also offer a Mumbai-Port Blair connection via Kolkata without requiring a change of aircraft.

“Durga Puja is one of the most important times of the year for Kolkata, when the city comes alive and families travel from across the country to be together. We are adding 22 special flights to give passengers more choice and make it easier to travel to Kolkata and Bagdogra during the festive season,” Debojo Maharshi, Chief Business Officer, SpiceJet, said.
“The additional connectivity to Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Port Blair will open up more options for passengers. We look forward to welcoming our passengers on board as they travel home to celebrate with their families,” Maharshi added.
The special flights, which will run through the Durga Puja period and the extended travel rush that follows, add frequencies on routes such as Delhi-Kolkata, Mumbai-Kolkata, Bengaluru-Kolkata and Delhi-Bagdogra, besides the new Mumbai-Kolkata-Port Blair link.

Several services will also connect Bagdogra directly with Kolkata, Delhi and Bengaluru, expanding options for travellers heading to the hills and North Bengal.
SpiceJet said the move is aimed at strengthening capacity across some of its key routes connecting eastern India with major metros and popular leisure destinations at a time when passenger demand typically surges around the festival.
