NEET UG: Several cases of candidates facing difficulties reaching the exam centres on time were reported from across cities.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test–Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2026 re-examination on June 21, from 2 pm to 5:15 pm, nearly seven weeks after the original May 3 exam was cancelled following allegations of a large-scale paper leak.
While the examination concluded largely without major disruptions, several incidents were reported from different states, including disputes over dress code, delayed arrivals and candidates being denied entry due to missing the reporting deadline.
A controversy emerged in Ajmer, Rajasthan, where a candidate wearing a burqa alleged that she was initially stopped from entering her examination centre because of her attire. Kulsum Bano, who travelled from Beawar to appear for the test, told ANI that she had worn the same burqa and dupatta during the cancelled May 3 examination but she was allowed to enter the exam hall that day.
Bano claimed that officials first asked her to remove her dupatta and later insisted that she take off her burqa before allowing her entry. She said the attire was important to her identity and questioned the decision, stating that the examination itself was secondary to the issue.

Missed Exam After Google Maps Showed Wrong Location
While in another incident, a student was allegedly denied entry after she was one minute late. She was coming by Rapido with the help of Google Maps but since it did not tell her the correct route, she took a lift from someone and reached the exam centre by then the gate had closed.

Similar cases of candidates facing difficulties reaching centres on time were also reported from across cities.
In Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad, some aspirants reportedly missed the examination after facing problems due to an incorrect location shown on Google Maps, reported PTI.
Faizan Ali, a candidate from Sambhal, said he used Google Maps to find his examination centre but was directed to the wrong location for RN Inter College. By the time he reached the correct venue, the reporting deadline had passed, and he was denied entry.

His father, Ikram, said his son had been preparing for the re-exam for a long time and expressed concern that the incident could affect his academic future. He urged authorities to investigate the issue and take appropriate action.
Another aspirant, Sarthak, reportedly faced a similar situation after being misdirected by an incorrect Google Maps location and was also not allowed to enter the examination hall after arriving late.
