Manoj Bajpayee denies fake video claiming political endorsement amid Bihar polls

Actor Manoj Bajpayee has spoken out after a manipulated video, allegedly showing him endorsing a political party, surfaced on social media ahead of the Bihar elections. The doctored clip is a distorted version of an old advertisement he filmed for Prime Video. Sharing a post on X, Bajpayee expressed concern over the circulation of the misleading video and urged people not to fall for it.

The circulation of the edited video comes at a sensitive time, as the Bihar elections approach. The clip, using visuals and audio from a past advertisement, falsely implies Bajpayee’s support for a particular political party. This misrepresentation has caused confusion among viewers and prompted the actor to issue a clear public statement refuting any political ties.

The actor warned fans against the fake video and wrote, “I would like to publicly state that I have no association or allegiance with any political party. The video being circulated is a fake, patched-up edit of an ad I did for @PrimeVideoIN. I sincerely appeal to everyone sharing it to stop spreading such distorted content and urge people not to engage with or encourage such misleading content (sic).”

Several leading actors have recently taken legal steps to protect their personality and publicity rights. Hrithik Roshan, for instance, obtained legal safeguards against the unauthorized commercial use of his image. Others who have similarly acted to defend their public persona include Karan Johar, Suniel Shetty, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Akshay Kumar.
