A school van driver was arrested for allegedly raping a four-year-old girl multiple times in Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow. The accused driver has been identified as Girish Mishra. It is alleged that the driver had been subjecting the girl to heinous acts for several days.
The matter came to light after the health condition of the child, a nursery student, deteriorated on Saturday and her family rushed her to the hospital. On Friday, while the child was returning home from school in the van, the driver raped her again.
Later medical examinations of the child were done, which confirmed the rape. The minor has since been admitted to hospital for treatment.
The family was devastated upon learning of the incident. The accused was arrested based on the complaint filed by the girl’s mother. The Talkatora police registered a case. The girl reportedly broke down in tears out of fear when she saw the accused being brought to the police station.
One school administration stated it will introduce measures to prevent similar incidents going forward. This follows an incident where a nursery student was allegedly assaulted for nearly 12 minutes by a class monitor.
