Sen defeated Canada’s Victor Lai 21-16, 18-21, 21-15 in the semi-final of the All England Open Men’s singles on Saturday at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham. The Indian star will face Lin Chun-Yi, who overcame Kunlavut Vitidsarn 21-14, 18-21, 21-16.
Sen is now just a step away from matching the achievements of the legendary Pullela Gopichand and the iconic Prakash Padukone, who both won singles titles at this prestigious event.
Sen advanced past Yuqi Shi in the Round of 32, then defeated Angus Ng Ka Long in the subsequent round, and ousted Li Shifeng in the quarterfinals to reach the semis.
Lin, on the other hand, worked his way past Alex Lanier in the Round of 32, secured a comprehensive win over Lee Cheuk Yiu in the Round of 16, and triumphed over Koki Watanabe in the quarterfinals to reach the final four.
