The Cycloner team tracked Kiran Jat’s movements across Balotra, Barmer, Sanchore, and Jodhpur districts in Rajasthan, as she changed locations frequently to evade arrest for over two months

The Cycloner team of the Jodhpur Range has arrested Kiran Jat, a woman linked to the 2021 paper leak gang, from Rajasthan’s Balotra district.
The accused allegedly attempted to secure a teaching job by hiring dummy candidates to sit for her in the Rajasthan Eligibility Exam for Teachers (REET). Jat had been on the run for the past three years and carried a bounty of Rs 25,000. She hailed from the Kekad area in Barmer.
Jodhpur Range Inspector General of Police Vikas Kumar stated that Jat, 25, fell into bad company while seeking her job. Her father-in-law expelled her from their house, and she also became estranged from her husband. The police team had been gathering information on her whereabouts as she traveled across Balotra, Barmer, Sanchore, and Jodhpur districts to evade the police over the past two months.
Jat allegedly paid Rs 8 lakh to secure a teaching job, hiring a dummy candidate to sit in her place for the exam. When the REET paper leak was uncovered, the gang was arrested, and Jat’s name surfaced. She fled thereafter.
Police subsequently announced a reward of Rs 25,000 for her capture. Her father-in-law, upon learning of this, scolded her and expelled her from their home. During this period, she connected with a young man and filed for divorce.
Jat consistently changed her location and phones each week to evade the Cycloner team. She was recently in Jhalamand near Jodhpur but fled when the police discovered her hideout.
Recently, the Cycloner team also arrested Bhanwari Bishnoi and Sangeeta Bishnoi on charges of manipulating the REET exam. Police stated that Jat traveled from Jodhpur to Fatehpur (Sikar), but upon sensing police pursuit, she fled again. From Sikar, she traveled to the Khedapa area of Jodhpur to seek a new hideout for her male friend, where the Cycloner team apprehended her on Sunday.
Jat had affixed a Delhi license plate to a Rajasthan car to mislead the police. She was also using a Fastag from a Gujarat-registered vehicle. A case of number plate fraud has been registered against her at Khedapa police station.
