The Gauhati High Court on Friday rejected the anticipatory bail plea of Congress leader Pawan Kheda in the case related to the wife of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Justice Parthiv Jyoti Saikia said that according to the police, the documents which Kheda has used as the basis for accusing Riniki Bhuiyan Sharma have already been proved to be fake. The court said that Kheda could not prove that Riniki had passports of many countries or that he had invested by forming a company in America. At first glance, this appears to be a case of possessing fake documents. Therefore, custodial interrogation is necessary for the police to investigate. What is the whole matter? Kheda had alleged on April 5 that Assam CM Sarma’s wife Riniki Bhuyan Sharma has passports of many countries and has undeclared property abroad. Which were not mentioned in the election affidavit. Telangana High Court had granted one week transit anticipatory bail to Kheda, so that he could go to Assam court. The Assam government challenged this decision in the Supreme Court, after which on April 15, the Supreme Court stayed the High Court order.
