Israel Election Results LIVE: Israel’s high-stakes election remains finely balanced, with partial results showing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s bloc leading with 53 seats, against 48 for the opposition alliance led by Gadi Eisenkot. The figures, released by the Central Elections Committee at 11:35 pm local time, are based on around 90% of votes counted across 97.5% of ballot boxes.
Neither side is close to the 61 seats needed for a majority in the 120-member Knesset. Arab-led parties are projected to hold 19 seats, potentially giving them a decisive role in government formation, although divisions within the opposition camp could complicate efforts to unseat Netanyahu.
Eisenkot has called the result as a vote of no confidence in Netanyahu’s government and vowed to push for political change. Meanwhile, Yair Golan, leader of The Democrats, plans to meet opposition figures, including Eisenkot and Yair Lapid, as efforts to build an alternative government gather pace.
