Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg reportedly blamed his former executive Sheryl Sandberg for the company’s recent “culture” issues during a meeting with President-elect Donald Trump.
The meeting took place in November last year at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate. These comments came despite the fact that Sandberg has not worked with Meta for over two years.
According to a report by The New York TimesZuckerberg expressed his dissatisfaction with Sandberg during that high-level meeting attended by Trump advisers, including Stephen Miller.
Zuckerberg’s comments about Sandberg were said to focus on her role in an inclusivity initiative at Facebook, which encouraged employees to express themselves openly at work. However, the exact reasons for Zuckerberg’s displeasure with the initiative were not clear.
Sheryl Sandberg, who had been with Facebook for over 14 years, resigned as COO of Meta in 2022. Despite leaving her role, she remained a board member at Meta until she stepped down from that position in 2023.
