Action has been taken on former Sri Lankan domestic cricketer Salia Saman. Salia has been banned from cricket for five years on charges of involvement in match fixing by ICC (International Cricket Council). Salia Saman violated the provisions related to the Anti-Corruption Code of the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) during the Abu Dhabi T10 League held in 2021. Due to this, this action has been taken on Salia.
The violation of the anti-corruption code of the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) was investigated by an independent ICC Anti-Corruption Tribunal. The tribunal, after hearing, found that Salia Saman not only tried to impress the match, but also offered rewards to other players to include in corrupt conduct and instigated them.

The ICC appointed an anti-corruption officer for this tournament, which failed these efforts in time. In September 2023, charges were framed against eight people, including summons. Their ban would be considered applicable from the same date (13 September 2023) when he was temporarily suspended.
8 people, including Salia Saman, were found guilty of the following allegations-
1. To join the match or an attempt to affect the match or any part of it in an improper manner (Article 2.1.1)
2. Offering reward for another player in exchange for involvement in corrupt conduct (Article 2.1.3)
3. To instigate, motivate or facilitate another player (Article 2.1.4)

Right-arm all-rounder Salia Saman played 101 First Class, 77 List-A and 47 T20 matches. Salia took 231 wickets in first class cricket and scored 3662 runs. In List-A cricket, Salia scored 898 runs in addition to taking 84 wickets. Salia Saman has 58 wickets and 673 runs in T20 cricket.
