Meet IAS couple, Dr. Nagarjuna Gowda and Srushti Deshmukh who cleared the UPSC Civil Service Examination in 2018 and became IAS officers in 2019. They met during their IAS training at LBSNAA in Mussoorie. They are also well-known on social media, with IAS Srishti Deshmukh boasting over 2.4 million followers on Instagram. Her husband, Dr. Nagarjuna Gowda has more than 414,000 followers.

Dr. Gowda comes from a village in Karnataka and received his early education at a local community school. Despite facing financial challenges, he pursued his MBBS in Medicine Surgery from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.
On the other hand, Deshmukh studied at Carmel Convent School in Bhopal. She secured a 10 CGPA in Class 10 and 93 per cent marks in Class 12. She went on to earn a BE degree in Chemical Engineering from Rajiv Gandhi Technology University Her father Jayant Deshmukh is an engineer in a private company and her mother Sunita Deshmukh works as a teacher in a private school.
Dr. Gowda began preparing for the UPSC Civil Service Examination while pursuing his MBBS. After becoming a doctor, he also worked as a resident doctor in a hospital, but his ultimate goal was to become an IAS officer. He achieved this with a rank of 418th in UPSC CSE 2018. Meanwhile, Deshmukh secured the 5th rank in the same exam and was the female topper of her batch.
The couple got engaged in 2021 and married in 2022. Following the completion of IAS training, Deshmukh was allotted the Madhya Pradesh cadre, while Dr. Gowda was assigned the Karnataka cadre. After their marriage, Dr. Gowda had his cadre changed to Madhya Pradesh to join his wife. He is currently serving as the CEO of Khandwa District Panchayat, and IAS Srishti Deshmukh is the CEO of Burhanpur District Panchayat.
