A private school has stirred conversations across social media after a photo of its fee structure surfaced online. The image reveals that the annual fee for nursery students is Rs 2,51,000, and it has left many in shock.

The discussion was sparked when Anuradha Tiwari, founder of the Dharma Party of India, posted the screenshot on X (formerly Twitter). “Class- Nursery Fees – Rs 2,51,000/- Now, learning ABCD will cost you Rs 21,000 per month. What are these schools even teaching to justify such a ridiculously high fee?” she wrote in her caption.

Though the school’s name is not mentioned in the image, reports suggest that the fee structure belongs to a private school located in Hyderabad.

Here’s How Internet Is Reacting

Since being shared, the post caught significant attention and led to a flood of comments. Some users expressed frustration over such a high cost.

A user commented, “This entire process has become a sort of scam. Certain things need to be regulated effectively.”

Another said, “The government needs to do something and stop this fee monopoly!”

“Absolutely agree. We all want quality education to be free for every child; no one will oppose that. But instead of investing in real reform, the government drains the treasury on endless freebies for vote banks. Meanwhile, Rs 2.5L fees for Nursery go unquestioned. Priorities?” someone else wrote.

While many criticised the fee amount, others took a different view, with one user suggesting, “If one cannot afford the fees, don’t send your kids to this school, simple and straight. The annual tuition fee for kindergarten at Dhirubhai Ambani International School is approximately Rs 14,00,000 (14 lakh).”

“These are schools where the elites would send their children to seclude them from the 95% of Indians. That’s the premium you pay to bring up your kids in an elite bubble, just like the private schools in the US or other countries. India used to have a few for a long time, Doon school, the convents in Darjeeling or other secluded hilly regions with boarding options,” a person pointed out.

“It’s not really about the quality of education; it’s more about showing off status. Many parents are willing to pay these high fees just to say their child goes to a fancy school,” another noted.

What About Other Classes?

The image of the fee structure also lists the fee structure for other grades. As per the details, pre-primary I and II have an annual fee of Rs 2,72,400. For classes 1 and 2, the fee goes up to Rs 2,91,460 per year.

Meanwhile, students of classes 3 and 4 are charged Rs 3,22,350 annually.
