Priya said she had paid for their education, accommodation, travel, tuition, club memberships and other miscellaneous costs, which she estimated at around Rs 96 lakh.

The timing of the will and its contents raised suspicions among other legal heirs, particularly Sunjay’s children from his marriage to Karisma Kapoor.

The timing of the will and its contents raised suspicions among other legal heirs, particularly Sunjay’s children from his marriage to Karisma Kapoor.

Priya Sachdev Kapur on Tuesday told the Delhi High Court that she has covered the expenses of her late industrialist husband Sunjay Kapur’s children with actor Karisma Kapoor since his death.

During a hearing in the ongoing inheritance dispute, Priya said she had paid for their education, accommodation, travel, tuition, club memberships and other miscellaneous costs, which she estimated at around Rs 96 lakh. She further stated that she had also covered some expenses of the plaintiffs’ mother, actor Karisma Kapoor.

“The Plaintiffs’ expenses for education, accommodation, travel and other miscellaneous expenses since the passing of Late Mr. Sunjay Kapur have been borne by Defendant N o.1, and even some expenses of the Plaintiffs’ mother,” Priya noted in her written statement, as per the court documents.

Priya also argued that the children cannot claim Sunjay Kapur’s estate, as he left behind a valid will dated 21 March 2025, making her the sole beneficiary. She told the court that this made the lawsuit seeking partition of the estate “not maintainable.”

Sunjay Kapur, founder and captain of the Aureus Polo team, passed away on 12 June last year while playing polo in London. Since his death, his estate, reportedly worth Rs 30,000 crore, has been the subject of a legal battle between Priya, his third wife, and his children from his second marriage to Karisma Kapoor.

Karisma Kapoor’s children, Samaira and Kiaan, filed a lawsuit challenging the Will in September last year. They have accused Priya of being “greedy” and likened her to “Cinderella’s stepmother.”

Samaira has alleged that her university fees were not paid, while her mother, Rani Kapur, said the Will unfairly excluded the family, claiming that Sunjay should have at least mentioned them if he did not intend to leave them anything.
