A man was arrested in Gujarat’s Navsari district after he was accused of repeatedly raping his 14-year-old daughter and giving her contraceptive pills.
The accused — who returned to India in 2024 after a six-year stay in South Africa— allegedly threatened his teenage daughter if she spoke about it, according to a report by India Today.
As per the report, citing a complaint filed by his wife, he raped their daughter for three consecutive days on May 9, 10, and 11and gave her contraceptive pills. He also threatened to kill her if she told anyone about it, leaving her too scared to speak up.
On May 30, the victim opened up to her mother, describing the ordeals she had faced, said the India Today report, adding her mother then approached the police and filed a complaint.
“He should be hanged”, she said in the complaint, as cited by the outlet. Police have registered a complaint under the Protection of Children under Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).
A further probe into the matter remains underway.
