Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a swipe at the Congress on Wednesday after Legislative Council elections across four states, questioning the party’s performance in polls held in Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Bihar and Maharashtra.
In a post on X, Modi referred to elections across 28 seats and highlighted the use of ballot papers before asking how many seats the Congress had won.
“MLC elections in 28 seats across 4 big states – Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar and Karnataka. Elections held using ballot papers. Guess how many seats Congress won?” Modi wrote.
The results so far point to a strong performance by the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), particularly in Karnataka, while the Samajwadi Party (SP) has won seats in Uttar Pradesh. Counting and result declarations for several constituencies were still underway in other states.
