1. Center approved the conditions of 8th Pay Commission: May be implemented from January 1, 50 lakh employees and 69 lakh pensioners will benefit.

The Central Government has approved the Terms of Reference of the 8th Pay Commission on Tuesday, October 28. Now after the formation of the commission, it will give its recommendations within 18 months. After this, the new pay scale may come into effect from January 1, 2026.
However, considering past trends, the recommendations may have to wait until 2028 to be fully implemented. That is, employees will get 17-18 months of arrears in lump sum or in installments. This will benefit 50 lakh employees and 69 lakh pensioners.
