Orange alert of rain in many districts of Maharashtra including Mumbai
India Season Science Department (IMD) has issued orange alert for Mumbai, Thane, Raigarh, Palghar and Sindhudurg districts. There is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain in these areas and heavy rain at some places.
Rain situation in the city
In Mumbai, 71 to 99 mm of rain was recorded in different areas during 5-6 hours last night. At the same time, on June 23, from 8 am to 7 pm, the highest rainfall was recorded at Nair Hospital (Central Mumbai), where 78.96 mm rainfall was recorded.

IMD said that the monsoon has now covered the remaining parts of the Central Arabian Sea, some more areas of Maharashtra including Mumbai, remaining parts of Telangana and Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and some parts of Bihar.
According to the Meteorological Department, monsoon arrived in Mumbai in the year 2023 also on June 25. The biggest delays occurred in 1974 and 1958, when the monsoon arrived on June 28.
