Former Indian Army Chief Manoj Naravane ignited a wave of speculation with a cryptic tweet in the aftermath of India’s “Operation Sindoor,” which targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan. The former Army boss tweeted, “Abhi picture baki hai…” which translates to “The movie is not over yet…” likely signaling that the landmark tri-services operation jointly executed by the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force may be part of a larger, ongoing strategic response.

The strikes targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir and was codenamed ‘Operation Sindoor’. The strikes aimed to dismantle bases used for planning and executing terrorist attacks against India, hitting nine identified locations in Pakistan and PoK.

The phrase “Abhi picture baki hai…” is a common Hindi idiom, often used to suggest that a situation is far from resolved and that further developments are expected.

Earlier, the former Army Chief General drew a stark parallel between the Pahalgam terror attack and the Hamas attacks on Israel, labeling both “no less barbarous.” Urging India to deliver a robust, multi-faceted response, he asserted that Pakistan should be kept “on tenterhooks.” He said that the “brazen attack on unsuspecting tourists” by The Resistance Front mirrors the brutality of the October 7th attacks, and he called for global condemnation of terrorist organizations, regardless of misguided liberal sensitivities.

He then said, “The brazen attack on unsuspecting tourists at Pahalgam on 22 April by The Resistance Front, is no less barbarous than the 7 October attacks by Hamas on Israel. That both attacks have their roots in fundamentalist Muslim organisations should serve as a wake-up call to nations across the world who are still shy of condemning terrorists and terrorist organisations out of an ill-conceived notion of liberalism.”

He also said that The Resistance Front (TRF) is merely “a different version of the Lashkar-e-Taiba, re-branded after the abrogation of Article 370 in an attempt to remove the Islamic fundamentalist footprint and mask it as a home-grown insurgency.”
