No change at toll plaza
The method of deducting tax at toll plazas will remain exactly the same as before, there will be no change in it. You do not need to stop at toll or do anything new.
The entire computer system in the backend will be handled by the National Electronic Toll Collection (NPCI), which will automatically update the information of the new bank. This means that there will be no change in the process of passing through the toll plaza for you.

Plastic waste will reduce, re-issue costs will be saved.
The government hopes that this portability service will significantly reduce the need to repeatedly create, dispatch and re-issue new physical FASTags. This will save both environment and resources.
Knowledge Part: What is NETC and RFID?
Radio Frequency Identification: This is a wireless technology that uses radio waves to read data from the chip embedded in the Fastag sticker and makes toll collection possible without stopping the vehicle. National Electronic Toll Collection: It is an interoperable platform created by NPCI, which connects toll plazas, banks and vehicle owners across India through a digital network.
