The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has officially started Fastag Annual Pass on 15 August 2025 on the occasion of Independence Day. This annual pass will apply to about 1,150 toll plazas on selected National Highways (NH) and National Expressway (NE) across the country. The official booking of ‘Fastag Annual Pass’ has also been started from today. Users can book/activate it online at home. This annual pass has received tremendous response from users on the first day.
1.4 lakh passes booked by evening
Salan Pass received tremendous response from national highway users. Its booking was started from today and till 7 pm on the first day, about 1.4 lakh users bought and activated the annual pass. Apart from this, about 1.39 lakh transactions (transactions) were recorded on toll plazas on the first day. It is being told that around 20,000 – 25,000 users are using the highway applies all the time and annual pass users are receiving SMS for zero deduction of toll fee.
Officers and nodal officers of NHAI have been appointed at each toll plaza to facilitate the journey with the annual pass. In addition, to address the complaints of nearby users, more than 100 officials have been further strengthened by adding more than 100 officials.
How will Fastag Annual Pass be activated?
First of all tell that, Fastag For the annual pass, you will have to spend Rs 3,000 which will be valid for 1 year or 200 trips (whichever first). Its NHAI official website and highway can be purchased or activated through mobile app. This pass will only apply to private vehicles like car, jeep or van. This pass will not be used on commercial vehicles.
Activate process
- Go to the highway mobile app and click on the tab of ‘Annual Toll Pass’.
- After this, click on the Activate button for booking.
- Click ‘Get Started’ to start further process.
- On the next tab, you have to enter the registration number of the vehicle.
- After this, enter your mobile number, an OTP will come on this number.
- After entering One Time Password (OTP), you will proceed through the payment gateway.
- After choosing the payment mode, you have to pay Rs 3,000.
- Within 2 hours of payment, the fastag annual pass will be active for your vehicle.
Do keep these things in mind
Before activating the fastag anuel pass, you should confirm that the fasting number of your vehicle is not registered. For this pass, the fastag is required to be registered with a vehicle registration number (VRN). Apart from this, before making payment, do also check the details of the vehicle being shown on the app. Do not use any other website or mobile app other than any NHAI and highway app to buy pass, it can be fraud.
