Harkirat has organized many such pilgrimage, which is now under investigation on charges of introducing Jyoti and others to the people of Pakistan. When Jyoti failed to get approval for Baisakhi Yatra in 2023, she was allegedly introduced to favor.
Baisakhi trip and first connection
Every year, thousands of Sikh pilgrims travel to the holy sites of Pakistan- Nankana Sahib, Kartarpur Sahib, Panja Sahib and Lahore, under an arrangement between SGPC (Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee) and Evacui Trust Property Board of Pakistan. During the preparation of one such journey, Jyoti’s first meeting with Ehsan alias Danish, who is a Pakistani High Commission officer and was later declared an unwanted person by India on 13 May, 2025.
The second visit of Jyoti for the 325th Baisakhi Festival in April 2024 created more concern. She not only returned to Pakistan, but also stopped from 17 April to 25 May.
