According to DGCA data, domestic air passenger traffic declined by about 5% on an annual basis in July 2026. This month, airlines carried 1.2 crore passengers. IndiGo remained at the forefront in the domestic aviation market. The airline had a market share of 67.4% and carried 80.82 lakh passengers in July. Air India Group came second with 24% market share. The group carried 28.75 lakh passengers in July. Akasa Air remained at third place with 5.5% share. The airline transported 6.65 lakh passengers during this period. According to DGCA data, SpiceJet’s market share stood at 1.6%. The airline carried 1.87 lakh passengers in July. This decline in total passenger traffic came even as IndiGo’s domestic market share remained at more than two-thirds. Indigo Ahead: In terms of on-time flights, the on-time performance of different airlines in July was quite different. IndiGo had the highest on-time performance at 91.2%. Akasa Air followed IndiGo with 90.8% on-time performance. Air India’s on-time performance was recorded at 86.5%. According to the data, SpiceJet’s on-time performance in July was 34.5%. This was much lower than other major airlines.
