Frenchwoman Lois Boisson, who became only the third woman to make the semifinals at their maiden Grand Slam event since 1980, following Monica Seles and Jennifer Capriati in a dream run at the ongoing French Open 2025.
The 22-year-old, who missed a first appearance at the Roland Garros last year due to an injury, moved into the last-four of the women’s event on Wednesday with a 7-6 (8/6), 6-3 triumph against Russian Mirra Andreeva on Court Philippe Chatrier.
The home hope expressed her delight on her feat, but added that her dream way to get her hands on the coveted piece of silverware at the clay court major in the Parisian Capital City.
“I think every kid who plays tennis has the dream to win a Slam. For French players, even more to win Roland Garros,” the French Open debutant said.
“It’s a dream for sure. I will go for the dream. My dream is to win it. Not to be in the semifinal,” she reiterated her goal.
When quizzed if her run to the semifinal of at RG was a miracle, the 22-year-old opined that the success was a result of her determination and work ethic.
“Some were saying ‘Oh what a miracle. What a miracle.’Do you believe in miracles or is this performance a result of hard work?”
“I think it’s the hard work I’ve put since I started playing tennis,” she continued.
“No, I don’t think it’s a miracle. For sure I have a bit of luck also,” the 22-year-old said set to be the top ranked French woman’s player following her showing in the ongoing Grand Slam event.
“But I think it’s the hard work I’ve put since I started playing tennis. And also last year with my rehab from injury it’s just a result of hard work and nothing else,” the Frenchwoman explained.
