The Allianz Arena, home of the Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, is set to host another UEFA Champions League final in the year 2028, the European governing body confirmed on Friday.
The battle for the right to host the 2029 final is being contested by England’s iconic Wembley Stadium in London and Barcelona’s renovated Camp Nou.
UEFA confirmed the list of interested bidders from its member associations, indicating that a long-rumoured final in New York will not occur until at least 2030 on Friday.
UEFA stated that the declarations of interest are not binding, and the final proposals must be submitted with the bid dossiers by June 10.
Munich hosted the final last season, and Wembley staged the previous final in 2024. Barcelona has not hosted the final since 1999.
The UEFA executive committee is scheduled to decide next September on hosts for all club competition finals in 2028 and 2029.
This season’s Champions League final will be held at the Puskas Arena in Budapest, with a new early evening kickoff time in Europe, and the 2027 final will be held at Atletico Madrid’s stadium.
